Fun Food Fact
Blackberries-
Blackberries have a unique structure that adds to their nutritional value. It is an "aggregate fruit" composed of many druplets each like a tiny berry with 1 seed all surrounding a firm core called the "recepticle". Each drupet adds more skin, seeds and pectin for a super dietary fiber boost.

A word from the Farmer~
With the incredibly wet spring, we were not sure if we would ever get our corn planted this season. We did and it is doing well but running a bit later than we had planned. We are excited to have secured some local sweet corn from a few of our farming friends for this week's boxes. We hope you enjoy this treat!
The blackberries are coming on strongly with all the heat and the crop is looking great! Come on out to pick and enjoy a day in the blackberry patch. We expect the crop to peak next week so bonus amounts should climb as well.
Bounty and Blessings,

Recipe of the Week:
Grilled Corn on the Cob
Soak the ears of corn in a cold water bath to wet the husks. This will help to steam the corn as it cooks in the husks. Pre-heat the grill or prepare charcoal. Grill unshucked cobs for about 20 minutes or until tender. Peel back the husks, remove the silks and enjoy!
There are tons of variations for grilling corn and here is a link to several options via the Food Network including Bacon Wrapped, Garlic Butter & Lime, and BBQ Butter options. Enjoy and be sure to share your favorites via our facebook page.
