CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) offers you the opportunity to be an annual share holder and get a delicious bounty of seasonal fruits and vegetables varying from week to week providing diverse and healthy eating options. Today, we all care more about the foods we eat, how they are grown sustainably and how fresh it tastes.  So, if you are looking for fresh, local produce and regular on farm adventures, then CSA membership is for you!

We pick, pack and deliver produce for 20 weeks from June to October to your home or office. For additional savings, you can even pick up at our farm or one of our group site locations. As a special value, CSA members receive first priority on all u-pick items at Great Country Farms with a weekly limited u-pick bonus available at no additional charge. Some items we offer are u-pick only, so we encourage you to spend a day on the farm regularly to pick your CSA share of u-pick only items such as blueberries, blackberries, hot peppers, and okra. Our Produce List will give you an idea of what we plan to grow. Our weekly Crop Talk Newsletter will keep you informed about what is in your delivery box, our U-pick bonus value for the week, and all the news and events at the farm.

This season, let us do the growing and picking for you. Know that your produce is grown with minimal chemicals or none at all using sustainable growing practices. We are NOT a certified organic farm, but feed our own family daily from the farm so we care very much how our produce is grown. We grew our CSA garden without adding any synthetic, chemical fertilizers or herbicides, and we added worm cultivation for fertilizing. We are constantly researching and implementing steps to use only sustainable growing practices to care for the land with which we have been blessed.

At Great Country Farms our CSA membership is so much more than a weekly produce box. Our farm is truly a family destination for fun on the farm with a barnyard full of animals to visit, hayrides to our u-pick fields, a giant jumping pillow, mazes, tractors to climb on, swings, 60’ slides, pedal carts, and catch & release fishing in our stocked pond. You can also enjoy all 13 fabulous events with no additional cost. Memberships cover farm admission from April to November for all members of your immediate household.  

There are lots of CSA options out there. What makes our CSA unique?

• 20 weeks of CSA fruit and vegetables from June 4^th- Oct. 21^st, 2012, available for you to pick up at our Country Store or to be delivered to your door or group site depending on membership selection.
  • 1 box per week for half share members designed to feed 2-3 adults
  • 2 boxes per week for full share members designed to feed a household of 4 or more adults
• Each box has a varity of seasonal produce to introduce new fruits and vegetables to the family. (substitutions unavailable)
• Pick-up members may choose to pack their own box full of fresh vegetables or have the box packed for them.
• Weekly u-pick bonuses at no additional charge, driven by season and yield for at least 24 weeks.
  • A u-pick bonus must be picked from the field by using our hayride access only, not in store and it cannot be delivered.
  • U-pick hayride at 9:15am. Hayrides go no later than 5:00pm.
• We offer make-ups for vacation requests
• Crop Talk weekly e-newsletter with u-pick bonus amounts, recipes, fun on the farm activities and growing news.
• Unlimited admission to the farm during our hours of operation from March 31^st- Nov. 25^th, 2012. This includes use of the jumping pillow, 18 hole Cow Pie putt-putt, slides, mazes, pedal carts, swings, catch & release fishing, daily hayrides, barnyard visits and animal encounters.
• Free admission to all festivals. This is admission only; it does not include extra items such as food, cow train, laser tag, etc.
• A membership card and two free passes per family.
• Streamlined check-in process.
• 10% Discount on all u-pick and in store produce.
• 10% Discount on all farm and laser tag parties with a minimum of 10 paying children. See party details for more information.
• Online account management system using case requests to submit feedback, vacation requests and review payment history.
• An open house weekend to welcome you to the family. This will give you an opportunity to meet the farmers and ask questions.
• Field trips are NOT included. Field trips consist of educational tours and produce which cost extra depending on the field trip.

CSA deliveries are made in Northern VA only Monday through Friday between 9am and 6pm. Delivery days of the week are set in late May by area and stay the same day throughout the season.
